Miss America was one of the best experiences of my life.  I am so honored and humbled to have been on the Miss America stage with some of the classiest, most intelligent, beautiful and talented women from across the country.  I am very proud to have stood on the same stage with you all.  I am proud to say that I have 51 incredible friends across the country.  Lauren, good luck as you start your adventure as Miss America 2007 and please know that you always have support behind you in New York.  I wish you an exciting and safe year and I am proud that you are representing us!

I am so excited to be home and to be introducing Brooklyn’s Borough President, Marty Markowitz, at his State of the Borough Address tonight!  Stay tuned for photos from tonight as well!  Love you all and thank you all for your support!

Miss America and Exciting News

Monday, January 15th, 2007

As you all know, the Miss America Pageant is coming up on January 29th at 8pm EST on CMT. I leave this Friday, January 19th to launch my 10 day experience of the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas, NV. I will keep you all posted about what is going on via this website while I am in Vegas. Please stay tuned and follow along for 10 days of excitement and fun. I hope to make you all proud!
I am also very please to announce two very exciting appearance opportunities that will take place in March.

March 2 - I will be the Goodwill Ambassador to American Diabetes Association Carnivale – Australian Outback. For information on this event please click below to read the recent media release about the event.

March 2007- I have been asked by the American Embassy to take part in its National Day celebration in Kuwait City, Kuwait. They will be hosting approximately 2000 members of elite Kuwaiti society–government officials, diplomats, business leaders, religious and cultural figures. The National Day celebration is to celebrate our Independence Day, July 4th. They hold their “July 4th” celebration in March because it can get to be about 130 degrees there in July, which is much too hot to hold any event of this kind. I am so please and honored to have been selected as their guest of honor. It will be extremely exciting and an honor to meet with our troops in Kuwait and meet Kuwaiti and American government officials and diplomats. I hope to make New York very proud.

Dec. 8 - Y.E.S. - Youth Empowerment for Success - Ice Skating in Central Park

I went ice skating with the girls and boys from the P.I.N.S. - Persons in Need of Supervision program.  My mentee was in attendance and we had a fantastic time ice skating.  Unfortunately, it was extremely cold that night, so we could not feel our toes after a few times around the rink.  However, some hot chocolate in between quickly remedied that!
